The Chicago Recovery Plan is enabling the creation of new units for permanent supportive housing across newly developed or rehabilitated housing buildings.
The goal of the Permanent Supportive Housing program is to support populations experiencing homelessness to transition to long-term, stable housing with supportive services. This PSH program aims to increase resident choice in their housing by providing optional supportive services, utilizing a housing first approach, and requiring the use of harm reduction as well as trauma informed design. Permanent supportive housing is a key component of the housing continuum to provide residents with a home that meets their needs.
