Victim Support Funding Program

Managed by Department of Public Health

Data last updated on Aug 23, 2023

The Victim Support program includes the provision of emotional support services like crisis intervention, mental health supports, and grief counseling, along with practical supports like assistance with applying for Crime Victim Compensation, benefit navigation, relocation and housing assistance, and food access. Individuals and families across Chicago are impacted by community violence. Both victims and those who are close to victims, such as family members, friends, and partners, experience trauma and stress in the wake of a violent incident and this program seeks to mitigate these experiences through ongoing trauma-informed care and support.
