Owner-occupied repair grants

Managed by Department of Housing

Data last updated on Aug 23, 2023

Through the Chicago Recovery Plan, the City is providing grants to qualified homeowners for rehab and repair services that will help them safely remain in their homes.

Owner-occupied repair grants are distributed through several programs, including the Small Accessible Repairs for Seniors (SARFS) program in partnership with the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD). Through this partnership, DOH and MOPD install vertical lift platforms in seniors’ homes to promote accessibility while allowing seniors to age in place. Other repair programs, including DOH's Home Repair Program and the Shared Homeownership Preservation Pilot Program, will activate in 2023.
