The Chicago Recovery Plan is supporting the preparation of city-owned lots for single-family housing development and homeownership in the North Lawndale and South Lawndale communities through the Reclaiming Chicago Communities Initiative. The initiative is aimed at creating “communities of opportunity” to replace vacancy, violence, and decades of disinvestment with new single-family affordable “for-sale” homes and opportunities for families to build generational wealth and equity.
