Recent Updates

Launched two cultural immersion showcases as part of Central City corridor activation in the Wrigley Building. Consular Showcases are a series of “pop-ups” that focus on an international consulate, highlight local Chicago businesses and provide attendees an immersive experience.

Hosted dozens of business events and convenings since May 2022. Events have included lunch-and-learns, receptions, and multi-day conferences, and have supported a variety of local restaurants and caterers, as well as industry attendees. The industry focus aligns with the Recovery Task Force priority sectors, including manufacturing, food and agriculture, transportation, distribution and logistics, and healthcare/life sciences.

Diversified World Business Chicago hospitality vendor pool, releasing a rolling open vendor call to source additional vendors from neighborhoods via aldermanic offices, community organizations, WBC social media and the Mayor’s Office Community Engagement team.

Up Next

Launch the Food Industry showcase, highlighting Chicago’s role in the food sector and cutting-edge CPG companies starting and growing in Chicago.

WBC is expanding sector events and looks forward to additional lunch and learns on the South and West sides, larger venture summits and an expansion of workforce and business development programming.

Cultural pop-up space

The program…has impacted my business in such a positive way. I can’t even imagine having to manage all the expenses on my own, especially after the pandemic...Goods sold in the Argentine Connection helps to provide a fair living for the indigenous communities I work with in Argentina, and it also help single moms with handmade crafts…it just feels so good to be able to showcase the crafts from our native country here. It’s like bringing a little piece of home back to Chicago.
