Objective
Address root causes of health issues through extensive public health investments, including investments in family, maternal, and mental health, as well as holistic health priorities like environmental justice and food equity.
Recent Updates
Launched Crisis Assistance Response and Engagement (CARE) initiative to integrate mental health professionals into the City’s 911 system 5 days per week for the first time in Chicago’s history.
Through Family Connects Chicago, provided nurse home visits for birthing persons, newborns, and their families at no cost. The home visits include a comprehensive physical assessment and connection to resources tailored to the families' needs.
Family Connects Chicago established 6 regional community alignment boards to identify and build community level supports to meet the needs identified by families.
Trauma-Informed Centers of Care (TICC) Network has expanded mental health service delivery in school, library, and Senior Regional Center locations. TICC Network providers have activated increased mental health supports for New Arrival Shelters and Youth Intervention Pathways providers who serve justice involved youth.
